Area church group hosting monthly breakfast

BELLEFONTE, Pa (WJAC) — The Bellefonte Knights of Columbus is hosting its monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast on Sunday, according to thegroup's Facebook page. Doors opened at 8:30 and breakfast will be served until noon. Breakfast is $9 for adults and $4 for children, with both eat-in and take-out options available. The breakfast is being served at the organization's home, located at 315 Stoney Batter Road in Bellefonte. An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served on the third Sunday of each month, from now through May.

Heritage Discovery Center partially reopens, Children's Museum to remain closed

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — The Heritage Discovery Center in Johnstown has reopened its doors after being closed during the pandemic. Some of the museums are open, so visitors have a chance to get out of the house and learn some history. Masks are encouraged and there are handing washing stations throughout the museum. The Children's Museum will remain closed, staff says, because of the hands-on learning experiences, it would be too risky and difficult to keep sanitized.

Lone eaglet spotted flying with parents after falling from PA bald eagle's nest

(WJAC) — The lone eaglet to a pair of Pennsylvania Bald Eagles left the nest over Memorial Day weekend and has since been spotted flying with its parents, according to Raptor Ecology Specialist Zoey Greenburg. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been partnering with HDOnTAP and Comcast Business to offer a live look at the Hanover eagles' nest in York County. Greenburg says the eaglet fell from the tree Sunday afternoon, but ground viewers spotted the young raptor alive and well on a lower branch nearby.

Nonstop flights to and from Johnstown-Cambria County Airport to resume beginning Thursday

(WJAC) — The Johnstown-Cambria County Airport Authority said Wednesday that their flight patterns with SkyWest Airlines will return to their status quo Thursday, after months of limbo with their carrier due to an industry-wide pilot shortage. In a statement, the airport board said that the United Express-branded flights from the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport will return to being nonstop direct flights on Thursday.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — 2nd UPDATE | PennDOT officials say a partial lane closure remains in place following Friday morning's tractor-trailer rollover crash on Interstate 99 in Taylor Township, Centre County. Authorities say one of the northbound lanes was reopened after 1 p.m., however, the other lane is not expected to be reopened until 6 p.m. Officials say the crash occurred just after 7 a.m. between exit 52 (Bald Eagle-Philipsburg) and exit 61 (Port Matilda-Philipsburg).
