Florida woman caught going 117 mph with child in car, police say

A Florida driver found herself on the fast track to jail late Thursday night after a police officer reported seeing her going triple-digit speeds.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department officer clocked the 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat going 117 miles per hour along Southwest Gatlin Boulevard, approximately 70 mph over the speed limit, a picture posted by PSLPD showed.

The supercharged sedan along with another vehicle were spotted racing east around 10:20 p.m., according to its statement. When the police caught up with the Charger, they discovered an 8-year-old child had been along for the ride.

The driver, Juliette Leon, was arrested on counts of racing on highways and child neglect. She also was ticketed for how fast she was allegedly going.

The 23-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie was taken to jail where she was booked on a $3,500 bond.
